You probably know you can see - and nowadays also copy - the Average, Count and Sum in the Status Bar in Excel. Simply select two or more cells and look in the bottom right hand corner.
But did you know that you can add additional calculations you might find helpful such as Numerical Count, Minimum and Maximum?
Here's how:
Maximum finds the largest number and Minimum the smallest. Count shows the number of cells that are not empty, whereas Numerical Count shows the number of cells that are not empty that contain numbers, ignoring text.
Oh, and Microsoft recently rolled out the functionality that you can copy the value from the Status Bar. Simply click the number. (No right-click!) I believe it only tells you once that it's been copied to your clipboard. So far the only time I've used it was to quickly copy a sum in an email. But perhaps you find it helpful.
