time-saving shortcut to select all cells in a row or column
(Excel 2003-2010)

During an Advanced Excel course yesterday one of the course participants (thanks, Gerard!) made the whole classroom fall in love with this time-saving shortcut to select all cells in a row or column:

  1. Click in the first cell of the row or column you want to select.
  2. Press [CTRL] + [SHIFT] + [RIGHT ARROW] key to select all nonblank cells in the row or [CTRL] + [SHIFT] + [DOWN ARROW] key to select all nonblank cells in a column.
