Microsoft Excel Intermediate/Advanced - course outline
Microsoft Excel is a widely used, powerful spreadsheet package. The primary objective of this one-day Intermediate/Advanced course is to broaden your knowledge of Excel.
This practical course allows you to appreciate the full potential of Excel. You will be encouraged to discuss your individual requirements relevant to your work. By the end of the course you will be competent with the following skills:
Intermediate and advanced editing and formatting techniques
- finding and replacing specific formatting in a worksheet
- using options in the paste special dialog box
- using alignment options in the format cells dialog box
- inserting a hyperlink into a worksheet
- inserting comments into a worksheet
Advanced data entry techniques
- restricting cell entries to specific numbers, dates or times
- restricting cell entries to specific entries in a list
- applying conditional formatting to a worksheet
Using absolute cell references
- entering an absolute column and absolute row cell reference into a formula
- entering an absolute column or absolute row cell reference into a formula
Using logical functions
- using the IF function, nesting IF functions
- using the AND and OR functions
Creating a chart
- what is a chart? plotting a chart
- modifying and enhancing a chart
- previewing and printing a chart
- including non-contiguous data ranges in a chart
Working with a table
