Remove a name from the automatic name fill-in list (Microsoft Outlook 2003-2007)

In Outlook, when you type the first letter of a name in the To, Cc or Bcc boxes, a list of names and e-mail addresses you have typed before is displayed. Over time names that you use less frequently will move down the list and eventually will disappear. But what if you want to delete a name from this "AutoComplete" list?

Here's how:

  1. Type the first letter(s) of a name in one of the To, Cc or Bcc boxes.
  2. Use your arrow keys on your keyboard to select the unwanted e-mail address.
  3. Press the Delete key on your keyboard.

With thanks to one of the members of staff of the Royal Veterinary College in Hawkshead for the question and inspiration for this week's tip.

Until next week.
