Using Google as a dictionary

You might be using the popular search engine Google to search the world wide web. For many of us "Googling" has become as instinctive as switching on our computer as soon as we walk in the office. However,

Google's powerful search tool can also be used as a dictionary.

Here's how:

1. In Google's blank search box, simply type the word you are looking for. (For instance "netiquette" to read more about etiquette on the internet as described in last week's tip.)
2. Press [ENTER] or the Search button.
3. In the top right hand corner, where the number of results are displayed, click on the definition hyperlink.

Alternatively, in Google's blank search box enter "define:" followed by your search term (for instance "define: netiquette").
