Adding a button to your toolbar (Microsoft Office)

As you are no doubt aware you can use the menu bar to display a list of commands. Some of these commands have images next to them, so you can quickly associate the command with the image. However,

Did you know ...

You can add a button to your toolbar that is associated with a specific menu option, such as the File, New, Post in This Folder option in Microsoft Outlook as described last week.

Here's how:

1. Open up the relevant program (such as Microsoft Outlook)
2. From the Tools menu, select Customize
3. Select the Commands tab
4. On the Commands panel of the Customize dialog box, select the File option in the Categories box
5. Scroll down the list in the Commands box and drag the "Post in This Folder" button to the desired location on the toolbar
6. Click the Close button

To remove a button select the Tools, Customize command and simply drag the button away from your toolbar.
