How to quickly change columns to rows or rows to columns (Microsoft Excel)

Sometimes, when you start to analyse data in Excel, you realize the data you entered into columns really should have been arranged by rows or vice versa.

Did you know ...

You can use Excel's Transpose feature to quickly change your columns to rows or rows to columns.

Here's how:

  1. Select the range of cells you want to transpose.
  2. Choose the Edit menu and select Copy (or press CTRL + C).
  3. Select a cell in another area of the sheet where you want to place the transposed data or open a new workbook or worksheet.
  4. Choose the Edit menu and select Paste Special.
  5. Check the Transpose box and click OK.

Excel will copy the data, converting the columns to rows and the rows to columns.

Until next week.
