Weekly Computer Tip # 325

happy birthday to us

First of all: happy new year! Secondly, as the subject implies: it's our birthday. And I am very much aware we wouldn't have a birthday today if it was not for you, our clients. So we like to start a yearlong celebration to mark our official 10th anniversary. Help us celebrate for years to come by adding our birthday to your Outlook calendar. (You can obviously also use the instructions below to set up birthday reminders for other people in your Outlook Contacts folder ;)

Here's how:

  1. Open the Contacts folder as usual. (Remember CTRL+3?)
  2. In the Contact list, double-click the contact whose birthday you want to add.
  3. In Outlook 2003, click on the Details tab. In Outlook 2007 in the Contact tab, in the Show group, click on the Details button.
  4. Click on the Birthday dropdown arrow and select the person's birthday.

The birthday reminder will automatically recur every year so you don't ever have to re-enter it.

Finally, don't miss the chance to win a bottle of 10 year old whiskey, by taking part in Roem's 10th anniversary quiz, which will be running through January. All you have to do is identify events that took place in 2001; see 1111.html for further details.
