Weekly Computer Tip # 280

Rule one of email netiquette

Back in July 2004 I wrote about the most important rule of email netiquette ... "Think before you post"; see tip_71.php . Guess last week's tip was one of those do-as-I-say-not-as-I-do situations as I clearly did not take another look before I hit the Send button. With thanks to those of you who emailed me about the mistake ... Step 4 should (obviously) have read: CTRL+SHIFT+V rather than CTRL+SHIFT+C.

So here's how to copy all formatting from text or shapes, such as rectangles, from one place and apply it to another, using a keyboard shortcut rather than the Format Painter button.

  1. Select the text or shape that has the formatting to be copied.
  2. Press CTRL+SHIFT+C.
  3. Select the destination text or shape.
  4. Press CTRL+SHIFT+V.

Think before you post.
