organise your inbox using colour (Microsoft Outlook)

Is your Outlook inbox an overstuffed, out-of-control beast? Well, there are various ways to organise your inbox to help you easily locate certain messages. For example, you can specify that messages from a specific sender will be displayed in your Inbox in a certain colour, making them stand out from the rest.

Here's how:

  1. Open your Inbox as normal.
  2. Choose the Tools, Organize command.
  3. Click Using Colors.
  4. In the first bulleted item, select the options you want. (You can click on any of the messages in your inbox to automatically select the "from" field.
  5. Click Apply Color.

Any new messages that come into your Inbox from that specific sender will be displayed in your chosen colour. (Happiness is.)

Until next week.
