rename an e-mail attachment while inserting it (Microsoft Outlook)

Ever found yourself in the middle of attaching a file to an email message and you suddenly realise you'd rather give it a different name? Well, you don't have to go on a hunt in Windows to rename the file; you can do it from within Outlook.

Here's how:

  1. Create an email message as normal.
  2. Choose the Insert, File command or click on the Insert File button.
  3. In the Insert File dialog box, right-click the file you want to rename.
  4. Select Rename from the dropdown menu.
  5. Type the new name, and then press ENTER
  6. Click on the Insert button or press ENTER once more.

Great time-saver, don't you think so? Speaking of which ... we still have some places left on next Thursday's Time Management workshop. If you find you are increasingly under pressure to fit everything in and ultimately struggle to find the time for the things you really want to be doing, come along and learn the true art of Time Management. (Last minute discount: GBP177 only. Full price GBP295.)

Until next week.
