Weekly Computer Tip # 184
12 January 2007

Start each week with a free tip

To subscribe, please type your email address in the box below:

hide the master background of a slide (Microsoft PowerPoint)

When you are using a slide template or slide masters, as explained in tip # 174 (http://www.roem.co.uk/tip_174.html), and for some reason need to get rid of, say, your company logo on one of the slides, you might spend some time struggling doing so as I don't think it's obvious how to overrule the master template.

Here's how:

  1. Display the slide of which you want to change the background.
  2. Choose the Format, Background command
  3. Check the "Omit background graphics from master" check box.
  4. Click the Apply button or press ENTER.

The change only applies to the current slide; other slides are unaffected.

Finally, don't miss out on the early bird discount on the next seminars, with courses reduced by as much as 35 percent. Kick start 2007 learning how to manage your time, make powerful presentations or excel with Excel. Check them out at http://www.roem.co.uk/seminars.html. Any questions, feel free to call me on 01223 214177.

Until next week.
