Maximize, restore and close windows quickly (Microsoft Windows)

To maximize, minimize or close a window or restore it to its previous size you can use one of the three buttons in the upper right corner of the window's title bar. However,

Did you know ...

you can quickly maximize, restore or close a window by double-clicking the window's title bar?

Here's how:

  • maximize: double-click the window's title bar to maximize to a full-size window
  • restore: double-click the window's title bar to restore the window to its previous size
  • close: double-click on the application icon in the upper left corner of the title bar to close the window
