Function keys shortcut toolbar (Microsoft Word 2000)

The top row of keys on your keyboard holds the Function keys. Function keys let you quickly perform an action with a single keystroke or a keyboard combination.

Did you know ...

that Word 2000 has a handy toolbar that lets you see what all of those Function keys can do?

Here is how:
1. Click Tools on the Menu bar and select Customize 2. Select the Function Key Display option from the Toolbars tab 3. Click the Close button

Notice that each button on the toolbar displays a command name label and the Function key that is assigned to it. Press the SHIFT, CTRL or ALT keys (or any combination) and notice that the buttons and labels on the Function Key Display toolbar change. Function keys perform different functions when used in combination with SHIFT, CTRL, CTRL + SHIFT, ALT, ALT + SHIFT or CTRL + ALT. (See http://www.roem.co.uk/Aprcompetition.html for one of these great "combination shortcuts".)

Until next week.
