how to keep your documents within easy reach (Windows)

Hope you've all been enjoying the beautiful weather in July; I have - hence the fact that you didn't get a tip for three whole weeks. But the weather is pretty miserable today, so I'm back with a tip on how to quickly get to the documents in your My Documents folder.

Here's how:

  1. Right-click an empty area on the taskbar (the area to the right of your Start button).
  2. Point to Toolbars, and then select New Toolbar.
  3. Select your My Documents folder or any other folder (even on a different drive) you access frequently.
  4. Click OK.

In future you can quickly access your documents by clicking the double chevron (>) on the taskbar.

What if you get fed up with it at some point? (Probably when you do your next spring-clean.) Simply right-click an empty area on the taskbar, point to Toolbars and untick My Documents.

Until next week.
