Delete trick (Word 97-2007)

Just the other day I ran a Word course which made me remember another great tip I never shared with you before. You probably know that you press the DEL (or DELETE) key to delete the character to the right of the insertion point or the BACKSPACE key to delete the character to the left of the insertion point. But what if you want to delete an entire word or a couple of words? Do you first select the text and then press DELETE? Nothing wrong with that, but there is a faster way by simply holding down the CTRL key.

Here's how:

  1. Press CTRL+DELETE to delete the word to the right of the insertion point; OR
  2. Press CTRL+BACKSPACE to delete the word to the left of the insertion point.

So, if you hold down the CTRL key and press DELETE three times you delete three words to the right of where your pointer is.
