Training Solutions
We all learn in different ways, which means that many people don't get the most out of standard "off-the-shelf" courses. That's why we offer various training solutions, from one-to-one coaching to rollouts and upgrades, taking into account the reality of your company's setup, the various learning styles, ability levels and personal preferences:

  • tailored hands-on training, ensuring course material accurately reflects your company's setup
  • hands-off demonstrations and presentations, offering an efficient introduction to existing and/or improved Livelink tools
  • train the trainer sessions, providing organisations' "super-users" the skills to create and deliver Livelink training
  • virtual training, giving a cost-effective method for individuals and small teams unable to attend classroom style training
  • computer-based training simulations, supplying an effective way to deliver materials to a broad audience

Roem Ltd operates with a small, carefully selected, team of experienced trainers, business analysts, records management specialists and projects managers who all have a wealth of Livelink knowledge.

Hints and Tips
Some top tips on the use of Livelink:

  1. Quickly launch Livelink Explorer
There is a variety of methods for accessing Livelink Explorer but by far the quickest is the following keyboard shortcut:
    • Press WIN+E
(The WIN key is the key with the Windows logo on it, to the left of the ALT key.)

  2. If Livelink Explorer is installed on your computer the Livelink Explorer icon is displayed at the bottom of the Folders list.

  3. Creating an email hyperlink
In Livelink you can create a hyperlink that automatically opens and addresses an e-mail message to the address you specify. Here's how:
    • Click the Add New Item drop-down menu and select URL
    • In the URL: box type the desired email address using the following format:
      mailto:[YourDesiredEmailAddress] (for example: mailto:karen@roem.co.uk)
    • Click the Add Item button
  4. Bonus tip: You can create a hyperlink that, as well as the email address, automatically enters a pre-defined Subject to your email message by typing for example: mailto:karen@roem.co.uk?subject=Livelink feedback

  5. Send a Web page in an e-mail message (browser view)
Sharing Web pages can be extremely useful, especially for Livelink users who want to notify their colleagues of an area that they want to share with someone. You can copy and paste the URL address in an email message. Alternatively, you can send a Web page in e-mail using Internet Explorer as follows:
    • Go to the Web page that you want to send
    • On the File menu, select Send, followed by Page by E-mail
  6. Quickly go back to previous page (browser view)
When using Internet Explorer you can use the "Back" button to return to the last page you viewed or the "Forward" button to view a page you viewed before clicking the "Back" button. However, you can quickly return to pages you recently visited using Internet Explorer keyboard shortcuts:
    • To return to the last page you viewed, click the Backspace key.
    • To view a page you viewed before clicking the Back button (i.e. use the Forward functionality) hold down the SHIFT key whilst pressing the Backspace key.
  7. Create an Outlook rule to automatically add e-mail messages to Livelink (Livelink Explorer)
Livelink Explorer integrates with Microsoft Outlook to provide access for browsing, viewing and working with many Livelink item types. You can automatically add e-mail messages to Livelink by creating a rule based on a message in your inbox or any other folder.
    • Right-click the message you want to base a rule on.
    • On the shortcut menu, click Create Rule.
    • Follow the instructions of the Rules Wizard, specifying Livelink as the folder name where you want to move the messages to.

"During our implementation of LiveLink software, Karen did a great job of taking our requirement to train 350 people, in London, Cape Town, Dublin and Islamabad, and produced a number of training courses which have been expertly delivered. Karen has given valuable feedback for the rest of the implementation team and worked flexibly to deliver training and support to a range of business users."
