Turn words, pictures or cells in a document into a hyperlink to a website (Office 2000-2007)

You can quickly turn words or pictures or cells in, say, Word, PowerPoint or Excel, into a 'hyperlink' to a website, without having to copy and paste the URL from the browser's address bar.

Here's how:

  1. Open the website you want to link to.
  2. In your document right-click the text, picture or cell you want to turn into a hyperlink and select 'Hyperlink'.
  3. With the Insert Hyperlink dialog box open, return to your browser. (You can press ALT+TAB to quickly switch.) Notice the link has been automatically added in the Address box in the Insert Hyperlink dialog box.
  4. Click OK.

Simply click the coloured and underlined text to go to the website.

Until next week.
